The steep, vermilion Taiko-bashi bridge reflects in its pond at dawn. Arrive at 6 AM for the shot. During New Year's, over two million people queue for 1.5 kilometers to cross it. The bridge is the same; the stillness is not. Use the handrails; the slope is 48 degrees.
Local tips
One of Japan's oldest shrines. The dramatic arched bridge over the pond is the photo spot. Approach slowly for the best reflection.
