Suitengu
shrine
水天宮
This Nihonbashi shrine is dedicated to safe childbirth. The focus is a bronze dog sculpture, its surface rubbed smooth by generations seeking easy deliveries. A full visit takes about twenty minutes on the compact grounds. The shop sells amulets for child-rearing that are among the most recognized in Tokyo.
Purify your hands at the temizuya before approaching the main hall. Left hand first, then right, then pour water into your left hand to rinse your mouth.
