武田信玄公像
Bronze monument to powerful daimyo Takeda Shingen, renowned Sengoku period warlord, Yamanashi historical icon.
The imposing bronze statue of Takeda Shingen stands outside Kofu Station's south exit, honoring one of the most formidable feudal lords in Japanese history who ruled Kai Province (present-day Yamanashi) during the turbulent Sengoku period. Depicted in full battle armor with his trademark war fan, the statue captures the legendary general who was never decisively defeated in battle and whose rivalry with Uesugi Kenshin produced some of Japan's most storied military campaigns. The statue serves as a popular meeting point and photo spot for visitors arriving in Kofu, and provides a fitting introduction to the city's deep Takeda heritage. Nearby Takeda Shrine and the ruins of Tsutsujigasaki Mansion, Shingen's former residence, allow deeper exploration of his legacy.
