Statue of a Peeing Boy

Perched dramatically on a cliff edge high above the Iya Valley, this small bronze statue of a peeing boy has become an unlikely symbol of the region's vertiginous scenery. The real draw is the setting, a narrow winding road leads to a lookout where the lush valley drops away hundreds of meters below, and the statue stands right at the precipice. It is quirky and a little absurd, which is part of the charm. The drive through the valley to reach it is spectacularly scenic in its own right.
