Shirogane Falls

Follow the river upstream through Ginzan Onsen to reach Shirogane Falls. The falls cascade over the 22-meter drop to the pool beneath. The viewing platform opposite the falls offers the ideal vantage point. In summer, people visit the pool at the base of the falls to enjoy Shirogane’s cool spray. The atmosphere surrounding the falls changes with the season. Water rushes down the moss-covered rocks on the left side of the main drop in summer. In autumn, the foliage turns crimson and gold. The falls do not freeze in winter despite cold, snowy conditions. For a limited time throughout the year, they are lit up at night, adding a colorful effect to the landscape.
