Shiraito Falls

白糸の滝

4.0Est. 60Nikko, Kanto
UNESCO World Heritage Site

Overview

A stunning, curved rock wall with hundreds of delicate waterfalls fed by Fuji's snowmelt.

Fed by Mount Fuji's spring water, these falls consist of hundreds of delicate streams cascading over a curved rock face. The resulting effect looks like hanging threads of white silk. It is a deeply refreshing and naturally scenic spot away from the major climbing trails.

Local tips

Visit the adjacent, more powerful Otodome Falls while you are here to experience two completely different waterfall styles.
