One of Japan's three great karst plateaus stretches 25 kilometers along the Ehime-Kochi border at 1,400 meters elevation, its rolling alpine meadows punctuated by white limestone outcrops and grazing cattle. The highland road connecting Goden Kogen to Tengu Kogen offers sweeping views above the cloud line. Clear nights reveal some of Shikoku's best stargazing, far from urban light pollution.
