瀬戸大橋記念館
The Seto Ohashi Commemorative Hall in Sakaide was built for the 1988 opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, designed by architect Yamamoto Tadashi with glass pyramids on the roof and high concrete columns along the facade. Four exhibition rooms cover the bridge's history, from proposals made over a century ago through to the engineering and construction methods used. Dioramas and videos explain the technical challenges of spanning the Seto Inland Sea. A rooftop lookout offers close-up views of the bridge itself. The building is in Seto Ohashi Commemorative Park and makes a logical stop when crossing between Honshu and Shikoku by train or car.
