Senkaku Bay

尖閣湾
Senkaku Bay is a dramatic landscape of jagged rocks and blue ocean along a series of five smaller inlets.
Series of five small inlets cut into dramatic coastal cliffs, formed by tectonic shifts and volcanic eruptions about 15 million years ago. The rock layers in the cliffs display distinct bands of color that indicate their age, and the water transitions from deep navy to white foam to turquoise as it hits the rocks. You can take in the view from stone benches above or book a glass-bottomed boat to see the marine life below. A small aquarium nearby shows seasonal catches from the bay, including winter yellowtail and starfish. The adjacent Tassha Coast offers a sandy beach safe for swimming.
