Sekigahara Town
関ケ原町
Est. 120Sekigahara, Chubu
Overview
Site of the most important battle in samurai history.
In 1600, this valley saw the battle that unified Japan under the Tokugawa Shogunate. The town is now a sprawling open-air museum where you can visit the specific hilltop campsites of famous generals like Ishida Mitsunari and Tokugawa Ieyasu. A modern museum offers VR experiences of the battle, but the real charm is walking the quiet fields where history was decided.
