Seki Machinami (Townscape) Museum

関まちなみ資料館
This museum occupies a restored house from the late nineteenth century.
Step inside a restored late-19th-century merchant house on the Seki-juku post road to see how a typical trading family lived during the Edo and Meiji eras. The layout is classic for the area: a long earthen-floor corridor runs front to back along one side, while tatami rooms line the other. Upstairs, lattice mushiko-mado windows frame the old street. A storehouse out back holds an 1761 town map listing every household by name and size. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 9am to 4:30pm; a joint ticket covers all three local museums.
