蜻蛉(トンボ)の滝
Seirei Falls is a 50-meter waterfall that thunders down the face of a bare cliff and into a stone channel worn smooth by the torrent.
Seirei Falls drops 50 meters down a bare cliff face into a smooth stone channel carved by centuries of flow. On sunny days, spray catches the light and briefly forms small rainbows. According to legend, Emperor Yuryaku gave the area its name after a dragonfly swooped in to protect him from a biting fly mid-hunt. The falls are a 5-minute walk from the Akitsu no Ono Park parking lot. Three viewing platforms lead to the base pool, and a side path climbs to a small wooden temple with statues linked to the mountain ascetics who trained here.
