JTA Approved
The five-pointed star is the main motif here, a symbol of yin-yang cosmology that appears on shrine buildings, amulets, and votive tablets. These are the grounds of Abe no Seimei's former residence; a popular 1980s fantasy novel brought renewed attention to the deified court astrologer.
Local tips
Purify your hands at the temizuya before approaching the main hall. Left hand first, then right, then pour water into your left hand to rinse your mouth.
