Gentle 1,271 m peak in Kumakogen with beech forest trails, wildflower meadows, and Shikoku mountain views.
Highland area in Kumakogen, Ehime, where broad meadows open up across the ridgeline and mountain views stretch in every direction. The terrain is accessible by road to a car park, with short walking tracks leading to the best viewpoints. In clear weather the panorama takes in layered mountain ranges fading into the distance, and in winter a thin covering of snow settles over the grass. It's a good place to stop and walk for an hour or two on a drive through Shikoku's interior, especially for anyone who wants open sky rather than dense forest.
