Sandankyo

One of Japan's top five scenic gorges, stretching 13 kilometers through dramatic rock formations along the Shiwaki River in Akiota, Hiroshima. Towering cliffs, moss-covered boulders, crystal-clear pools, and thundering waterfalls create a stunning backdrop along the well-maintained hiking trail. The gorge is particularly spectacular during autumn when maples and beeches paint the canyon walls in brilliant reds and golds, drawing visitors from across western Japan.
