Sakurayama Park

Sakurayama Park in Fujioka lives up to its name with over 10,000 cherry trees covering the hillside, creating an almost overwhelming sea of pink during the blooming season in early to mid-April. The park also features a koi pond, walking trails, and an observation area that provides views over the surrounding countryside. Autumn brings a second wave of beauty when the foliage shifts to deep reds and golds, and French hydrangeas add color in early summer. The park is rarely crowded compared to Tokyo's famous hanami spots, making it a peaceful alternative for cherry blossom viewing within a couple of hours of the capital.
