Sakura no
park
さくらの里
Beautiful cherry blossom at the foot of Mount Omuro.
Spreading across the base of Mt. Omuro, this park contains around 1,500 cherry trees representing roughly 40 different varieties, which means the blooming season stretches from late September all the way through May rather than the usual two-week window. Early-blooming jugatsuzakura and winter varieties give way to somei yoshino and late-season yaezakura, so there is almost always something flowering. The volcanic mountain as a backdrop gives the scene an unusual drama. Entry is free, and the park connects directly with the Mt. Omuro chairlift area.
