Tohoku's most beautiful pagoda, built in 1667 without nails near Hirosaki Castle.
Completed in 1667 without a single nail, this 31-meter pagoda is considered the most beautiful in all of Tohoku. The copper-roofed structure stands on a hillside southeast of Hirosaki Castle, surrounded by cherry trees that create a pink canopy each spring. Its graceful proportions and meticulous joinery have earned it designation as a National Important Cultural Property.
