Sainenji Temple

Originally located on the grounds of Toba Castle before being relocated to its current site. It served as the patron temple of the Naito family, hereditary vassals of the Tokugawa, who were granted control of Toba after the powerful Kuki clan. Wisteria motifs, the Naito family crest, appear on buildings throughout the grounds, and the family graves rest on a hilltop behind the temple. Also buried here is Tachibana Munatada, the pre-Kuki ruler of Toba, who managed to keep influence in the region by marrying his daughter to the man who replaced him.
