Roadside Station Kiramesse Muroto

Roadside Station Kiramesse Muroto sits on the cape road at the southern tip of Kochi Prefecture, where the Pacific horizon is unobstructed in three directions. The station sells fresh fish caught that morning along the Muroto coast, along with dried seafood and preserved products unique to the cape area. Whale meat, a specialty of this part of Shikoku, appears in several forms at the food counter. The outdoor terrace faces directly over the ocean. Muroto Cape is a UNESCO Global Geopark site, and the dramatic rock formations carved by surf action begin within walking distance of the station. It's a natural break point on the long coastal drive between Kochi city and Tokushima.
