霊宝館
The Reihokan at Ninnaji stores and displays Buddhist statues, paintings, sutra scrolls, and imperial documents accumulated over the temple's long history. Among the highlights is a 9th-century Amida Triad designated a National Treasure from the temple's founding era. Letters hand-written by emperors to the temple's abbots, a post held by imperial family members until 1867, reflect Ninnaji's unique connection to the court. The concrete building, completed in 1927 and designed by architect Kataoka Yasushi, evokes traditional Japanese storehouse forms. It opens to the public twice annually, for roughly 50 days beginning April 1 and October 1.
