The Oto Matsuri is an ancient festival steeped in history. For 1,400 years, the steep stone staircase leading up to the spiritual sanctuary of Kamikura-jinja Shrine has been the stage for a spectacular event each February.

Purify your hands at the temizuya before approaching the main hall. Left hand first, then right, then pour water into your left hand to rinse your mouth.
