Home of the massive Otani-yaki indigo dyeing jars.
This village produces the largest ceramic wares in Japan, traditionally used for indigo dyeing and lotus water lilies. Visitors can see the climbing kilns and try their hand at the pottery wheel. The scale of the pottery here is unlike anywhere else.
