Overview
Charming village featuring eight crystal-clear, deep blue ponds fed by Fuji's aquifers.
A picturesque village famous for eight incredibly clear ponds fed by Mount Fuji's snowmelt. The water is filtered through porous lava rock over decades, resulting in brilliant blue and green hues. Traditional thatched-roof buildings frame the ponds beautifully.
Local tips
The central ponds get very crowded, so seek out the Deguchi Pond, which requires a short walk but is peaceful and secluded.
