大相撲三月場所 (エディオンアリーナ大阪)
The lower divisions fight in the morning to a sparse crowd. Arrive around 2:00 PM for the top-ranked wrestlers, when the arena fills and the energy shifts completely. Box seats get you close enough to feel the impact; bring a cushion, as the floor is hard. The full atmosphere reaches the upper-level chairs.
Local tips
Skip the morning bouts on your first day and arrive around 2:00 PM for the juryo and makuuchi divisions when the crowd energy peaks. Bring a cushion for box seats (the floor is hard). Chanko nabe stalls inside the arena sell the same protein-heavy stew the wrestlers eat, usually for around 300 yen a bowl. For the full experience, walk through the stable quarter south of Namba Park in the early morning to see wrestlers heading to practice.
