Chichibu Fruit Picking Parks

The hills around Chichibu are dotted with orchard parks where you pick and eat seasonal fruit straight from the vine or tree. Strawberries ripen from December through June in heated greenhouses, while grapes, including the local seedless Mountain Ruby variety, come in from August through November. Some parks have shaded barbecue areas, trout fishing ponds, and noodle-making classes where you eat your own soba or udon. Children can catch stag beetles, make bamboo toys, or feed ducks and goats. Seasonal fruit, jams, and packaged goods are available to take home.
