Onomichi Cat Alley (Neko no Hosomichi Extension)
cafe
尾道猫の細道奥
Hidden cat-themed cafes and art spaces tucked into the hillside alleys above Onomichi's famous Cat Alley.
Beyond the marked Cat Alley, the hillside maze of Onomichi hides a network of tiny galleries, cat cafes, and artist studios in abandoned houses reclaimed by creatives. Fukuishi Neko (lucky stone cats) painted by artist Sonoyama Shunji dot the pathways. The higher you climb, the more rewarding the discoveries, and the fewer people you'll see.
Look for the painted fukuishi cats on rocks. Collecting photos of all of them is a local treasure hunt. The highest ones have the best views.
