Overview
12th-century excavation creating a trading route with China through the Ondo-No-Seto strait, steeped in legend.
Legend has it that the Ondo-No-Seto stretch of road was first excavated in the early 12th century and was initially set up to help to maintain a regular trading route with China, whilst there is some contention by historians as to whether this path was man-made or mostly natural, there is no denying that it cuts through beautiful scenery and offers travellers a wide variety of views to enjoy.
