Okazaki Park

Built around the site of Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the shogun who unified Japan and established the Edo period that lasted over 250 years. The reconstructed castle keep houses a museum tracing the Tokugawa legacy with armor, weapons, and interactive exhibits, while the surrounding parkland is one of Aichi Prefecture's premier cherry blossom destinations, with roughly 800 trees creating a canopy of pink in early April. The park also features a samurai experience museum, walking paths along the Otogawa River, and seasonal festivals including a spectacular fireworks display in summer. Its historical significance combined with year-round natural beauty makes it a worthwhile stop between Nagoya and the coast.
