Nishigawa Canal Greenway
park
西川緑道公園
A 2.4km tree-lined canal walk through central Okayama, the city's most pleasant hidden stroll.
This narrow canal park cuts through downtown Okayama beneath a canopy of cherry and willow trees. Locals jog, read, and eat lunch along the water. In spring, the cherry blossoms create a pink tunnel overhead. The southern end connects to the arts district with galleries and cafes in converted warehouses.
Walk from Okayama Station south to Korakuen Garden along the canal. It's prettier than the main road and takes the same time.
