Oirase Stream (Choshi Orui Waterfall)

While popular among hikers, the Oirase Stream remains 'off-the-beaten-path' for those sticking to major cities. The trail follows the crystal-clear water flowing from Lake Towada. The Choshi Orui Waterfall is the only one that spans the full width of the river, acting as a natural barrier for fish. The entire walk is a lush, mossy paradise that is particularly stunning when the autumn leaves turn fire-red.
