雄川の滝遊歩道
Follow the 1200-meter trail deep into the forest and discover the Ogawa Waterfall.
The Ogawa Waterfall trail follows a 1.2-kilometer path through Kagoshima forest to a 46-meter-wide cascade that falls into an emerald plunge pool. The 15-minute one-way walk first passes under the Takimi Ohashi Bridge, an 80-meter-high arch crossing the valley, before reaching a streamside rest area at the halfway point. The waterfall drops from a rough geometric basalt cliff face with smaller subterranean streams seeping through the rock. Depending on the season, leopard plant flowers or creeping saxifrage blossoms line the path. Note that swimming in the pool is prohibited and the trail closes during and after heavy rain.
