Ogawa Town's handmade Hosokawa paper is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, crafted using pristine underground spring water and techniques unchanged for 1,300 years. At the learning center, visitors make their own sheets by hand under artisan guidance, from fiber preparation through the delicate scooping process. The surrounding town retains a quiet mill-village character with paper studios, sake breweries, and organic soba restaurants.
