雄勝ローズファクトリーガーデン
The Ogatsu Rose Factory Garden is a symbol of hope and community.
The Ogatsu Rose Factory Garden grew out of a community effort following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Hundreds of volunteers came together to plant flowers in memory of those lost in the disaster, transforming a 2,000-square-meter site into a living memorial. Today the garden holds a diverse mix of roses, cherry and plum trees, blueberries, strawberries, and wild herbs. The on-site cafe uses freshly harvested fruits and herbs in its food and drinks. The garden hosts a range of activities throughout the year, from disaster preparedness workshops to concerts and children's field trips, making it an active community space as much as a memorial.
