Oboshi Park

大法師公園
Two thousand cherry trees transform the park into waves of pink blossoms each spring against mountain scenery.
Oboshi Park sits on a hilltop in Fujikawa, Yamanashi Prefecture, and is famous for its 2,000 cherry trees that explode into bloom in early to mid-April, framing one of the most photogenic views of Mt. Fuji you will find anywhere. The observation deck at the summit captures cherry blossoms in the foreground with the snow-capped peak rising behind, a composition that regularly appears on travel posters and social media. Outside of cherry season, the park is a quiet retreat with walking paths and hilltop views over the Kofu Basin. Arriving early in the morning gives you the best chance of clear Fuji views and fewer crowds.
