Historic lighthouse at Boso Peninsula's southernmost tip with panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and Pacific Ocean.
Nojimazaki Lighthouse stands at the southernmost tip of the Boso Peninsula, first lit in 1870 and designed by French engineer Verny, making it one of Japan's oldest Western-style lighthouses. You can climb the octagonal white tower for wide views over Tokyo Bay and the Pacific. The surrounding park has walking paths along rocky coastal edges, a flower garden with poppies and marigolds in spring and summer, and benches facing the ocean. The area stays frost-free through winter thanks to its mild climate. It rounds off a Boso Peninsula drive well, especially combined with fresh seafood at one of the nearby port restaurants.
