Overview

The largest of Niseko United's four ski resorts, on the east face of Mt. Annupuri, with 887 meters of vertical and the area's deepest in-bounds powder.

Niseko Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu covers the east-facing flank of Mt. Annupuri above Hirafu Village, with 22 lifts and 30 km of marked runs spread across 887 meters of vertical. The resort is best known for the Niseko Powder Connoisseurs gates that open in-bounds backcountry zones to qualified skiers. Lift tickets connect to Hanazono on the same ridge and across the saddle to Niseko Village. Operated by Tokyu since 1961, with the longest documented Niseko ski history.

Local tips

The Hirafu Hanazono lift connection from Grand Hirafu opens the King #4 ridge on bluebird days, with the cleanest view of Mt. Yotei from the lift line.
