Nikkowanoshiro Onsen Yashio

Yashio-no-yu is a large, municipally-run onsen facility located near the Kirifuri Highlands. It is a favorite for local residents and hikers returning from the Nikko mountains. The water is a simple alkaline spring, famous for making skin feel incredibly soft and for its therapeutic effects on fatigue. The facility features a large indoor bath with huge windows and a spacious outdoor stone pool surrounded by forest. It is well-known for being fully tattoo-friendly and extremely welcoming to international visitors. It offers a very peaceful and authentic alternative to the more commercialized baths in the central Nikko shrine area.
