Overview
Discover More About the Rich Natural Environment of Nikko at the Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center.
The Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center sits beside Lake Yunoko in the Oku-Nikko Yumoto Onsen area within Nikko National Park. It serves as a practical starting point for exploring the surrounding landscape, offering information on guided nature tours, local wildlife, and seasonal highlights. Admission is free. Hours shift with the seasons: open daily April through November, weekends only in December and January, and daily again from February through March, with closures on Wednesdays in the off-season. Joining a guided nature tour here is a good way to get more from the wetlands, forests, and wildlife that make Oku-Nikko distinct.
Local tips
Wash thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the bath. This is non-negotiable etiquette. Bring a small towel but keep it out of the water.
