Hidden in the forests of the Goshikidai plateau, this atmospheric temple is surrounded by momiji (maple) trees, making it stunning in autumn. It is famous for the legend of the Ushi-oni (ox-demon) that once terrorized the area; a statue of the creature stands near the entrance.
