The main hall’s view of the Amanohashidate sandbar is now blocked by trees. For the direct overlook, find the observation deck on the former temple grounds. From this vantage 350 meters above the water, a pagoda from the 1990s stands next to the late-eighteenth-century hall.

Local tips

Remove shoes before entering any hall. Look for a shoe rack at the entrance. Carry a plastic bag for your shoes if none is provided.
