中海フルーツパーク
Overview
Nakaumi Fruit Park, a seasonal attraction operated by a local agricultural group, primarily produces strawberries and sweet potatoes.
Nakaumi Fruit Park, run by a local agricultural cooperative beside the Yonago Waterbird Sanctuary, grows strawberries and sweet potatoes across nine greenhouses on reclaimed farmland. From November to May, visitors can pay to pick strawberries and eat them on-site, taking some home at the end. A sweet potato digging experience runs in autumn. The cooperative was formed partly in response to the growing problem of abandoned farmland in Tottori Prefecture as the farming population ages, and it operates with an inclusive hiring policy. Around 25,000 strawberries are harvested annually, with sweet potato production exceeding 200 tons.
