Nakatanidou

Nakatanidou has become a Nara sensation for their high-speed mochi pounding performances, where two craftsmen pound and fold the rice with choreographed precision at astonishing speed. Beyond the spectacle, the resulting yomogi (mugwort) mochi is genuinely exceptional, soft, fragrant, and filled with sweet red bean paste. The small shop near Kintetsu Nara station always draws crowds for both the show and the snack.
