Nakanoshima Museum

Nakanoshima is a slender sandbar island sitting in the heart of Osaka between two rivers, holding the city's finest Meiji and Taisho-era Western architecture side by side. The Osaka City Central Public Hall stands out with its copper dome and neoclassical facade, while the Bank of Japan occupies a stately stone building nearby. At the center sits Nakanoshima Park, popular for riverside walks and rose garden visits. The western tip is home to the modern Nakanoshima Museum of Art. Riverfront promenades on both sides are worth a walk at dusk, when bridge lights double in the water and several good restaurants line the shore.
