Shimizuyu offers two distinct mineral waters in a residential setting: the deep amber Kuroyu and the golden Koganeyu. It has the feel of a high-end onsen at a standard bathhouse price. Tattoos are permitted if covered by stickers, which are sold at the counter. Note the facility is closed on Mondays.
Local tips
Wash thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the bath. This is non-negotiable etiquette. Bring a small towel but keep it out of the water.
