Mt. Takatsuki Walk

座間味ムーンウォーク
A brisk hill climb with views of a historic bay by way of a WWII monument.
The Mt. Takatsuki walk on Zamami Island is a short, direct hike from the harbor up to a 137-meter summit with panoramic views east over Agonoura Bay and west toward Furuzamami Beach. The route passes the Tower of Peace, a memorial to the 1,200 islanders and soldiers who died in World War II. The walk takes around 20 minutes each way. At the top, a pair of paths approach the summit, making a small loop possible. In the Ryukyu Kingdom era, Agonoura Bay served as an anchorage for ships waiting on favorable winds before crossing to China.
