Mt. Omine Observatory (114.5 m) stands at the highest point of the Watari Peninsula and overlooks several sites in the Sacred Island of Okinoshima World Heritage area. From the platform, visible landmarks include the islands of Ainoshima and Oshima, and on clear days the sacred island of Okinoshima itself. Nearby, a monument commemorates the 1905 Naval Battle of the Sea of Japan, the decisive engagement of the Russo-Japanese War fought in the Tsushima Strait just off Fukutsu's coast. The surrounding Mt. Omine Nature Park has hiking trails lined with cherry trees, Japanese maples, and large bay trees estimated to be around 200 years old.
