Mt. Fujisato-Komagatake: Kabadai Trailhead
nature
藤⾥駒ケ岳 樺岱登⼭⼝
The Kabadai Trail climbs Mt. Fujisato-Komagatake (1,158 m) along the southern side of the mountain, gaining over 500 meters over 2.87 kilometers, a three-hour one-way effort suited to experienced hikers. About a kilometer in, the trail flattens through Bunadaira, a wide open section filled with old beech trees spared from logging by the remoteness of the area. The mountain has been venerated by local farmers for centuries, who traditionally wait to plant their rice until the snowmelt on the hillside forms the shape of a running horse. Come alert for Japanese macaques, wild boar, and Asian black bears. No toilets on trail.
