Mt. Bizan

眉山
This landmark mountain is a major symbol of Tokushima.
Mt. Bizan rises 277 meters above Tokushima City, its profile earning the name Eyebrow Mountain for the gentle ridge it traces on the horizon. The Bizan Ropeway carries you to the summit observatory in six minutes from the fifth floor of the Awa Odori Kaikan. On a clear day, views extend across the Sanuki Mountains, Awaji Island, the Kii Channel, and the 194-kilometer Yoshino River. The slopes are thick with cherry trees, making it one of the city's most popular blossom-viewing spots each spring. After dark, the panorama earns a place among Japan's top 100 night views.
