Bizan Park
眉山公園
Overview
Park atop Mt. Bizan with panoramic views of Tokushima City, a memorial pagoda & ropeway access.
Bizan Park sits atop Mount Bizan, the mountain that symbolizes Tokushima City, with a ropeway carrying visitors up from near Tokushima Station in about six minutes. The observation platform at the top sweeps from downtown across the Yoshino River to the mountains of western Tokushima. Sunset and after-dark visits are particularly worthwhile, when the city lights spread below. The park grounds include a memorial pagoda, LED light installations, and panels explaining Tokushima's connection to the Awa Odori dance festival. During Awa Odori each August, the mountain vantage point offers a rare elevated view of the festivities as they unfold across the city streets below.
